As the other deviants have said, just try to understand where light comes from and how it affects the subjects, for example the shadow below the girl souldn't be that way, the shadows follows the light source so, the shadows goes inside the light that is comming from the door
I don't think I coudl add anymore to what these people have said -- the light from the lantern does indeed not fit in, since the lantern itself is dark, and the people do need som highlights on them from the natural light, and darker shadows. But overall, this is a good piece, and a nice concept. The people look as though they belong there, instead of being pasted in.
Nicely done! The only nitpicky thing I could come up with is that the figures need to be touched up a little to reflect the actual visible lighting in the image, ie. a little darkening on the surfaces toward the viewer. It would really give it a much more mysterious feel. Other than that...
It looks really great. My only criticism would be with the lighting from the lantern (would the light show quite that brightly) and the shadows off the people. The shadows would perhaps be a little darker.
